Rownderbowt

While Chapterhouse had released two at-times quite engaging albums before their breakup, the early shoegaze group had a slew of singles, one-offs and rarities that best demonstrated the real range it had at its considerable best. The posthumous Rownderbowt compilation finally does the band some real justice on that front, sampling not only notable singles and album cuts but much more, touching on everything from their drone rock roots, including a cover of Spacemen 3’s “Losing Touch With My Mind,” to the extended ambient/rock exploration “Picnic” and their middle finger to everything, “Die Die Die.”
