Stereo Musicale

Released

Coming just a little later in the initial UK shoegaze rush, by the time the band released their debut album following a couple of striking EPs they were almost defiantly out of sync with where press attention and assumptions about ‘real’ rock music were going, only scoring a low key US release in turn for Stereo Musicale. More’s the pity because Blind Mr. Jones easily found their own remarkable niche in the approach, capturing both a certain winsome, contemplative air via their singing and, in the person of Jon Tegner, an amazing secret weapon: flute, adding a soaring edge to songs like “Dolores.”
