Amnesiac

Released

At the time of Kid A’s release Radiohead dropped hints that another album from the same set of sessions would soon emerge and be more ‘normal’ sounding — it turned out to be a classic misdirection but one that they backed up almost perfectly. Amnesiac did have a direct connection to Kid A in the form of an alternate version of a song from that album “Morning Bell/Amnesiac,” but the knotty piano-led “Pyramid Song,” the slowly cascading flow of “Knives Out” and more were all their own shadowed, thorny things, compelling, fragile and unusual.
