Released

Husk is the only full-length collaboration between Jonathan Coleclough and Murmer. Originally released in 2006 on the ICR label (run by Colin Potter of Nurse With Wound), it was re-released in 2020 with previously hard-to-find bonus material. While much of it leans in the direction of industrial drone (the 15-minute “Freon” being an especially captivating example), passages of reprieve (e.g., “Fieldwork” and “Pucara”) indicate a leafy nervous system keeping this organism alive. The album’s title is also its worldview, treating layers of meaning as opportunities to clear our heads of any preconceptions about the narrative potential of wordless imaginings.
