Released

Murmer (a.k.a. Patrick Tubin McGinley) is attuned to the beauty of the banal. His prosaic regard for physical environments is epitomized in this early soundscape from 2002. Captured in London at the turn of the new millennium, it encompasses drones of unknown origin, New Year’s Eve fireworks, amphibious sermons, buzzing insects, and swirling waters. At the time of its release, it represented a deviation from Murmer’s usual process by including recognizable sounds and noisier excursions. Its dynamic extremes are its strengths, vulnerable without being victimized.
