Reflecting a retrench after Hot Space’s middling reception, Queen’s 1984 album lived up to its name, continuing to work with the electronics they’d more recently played around with while bringing in more of their familiar rock moves from the previous decade. It also helped that they had another killer single out of gate, the nostalgia-themed, drum-machine driven and Roger Taylor-written “Radio Ga Ga,” with John Deacon’s “I Want To Break Free,” exuberantly sung by Freddie Mercury and accompanied by one of their best videos, being another sparkling hit.
