Restless and Wild

A creaky recording of an old German folk song makes you wonder if you put on the wrong LP, then like its namesake “Fast As a Shark” strikes out of the dark and changes metal forever. The double-kick drumming paved the way for Teutonic thrash legends like Destruction, Kreator, and Sodom – as well as providing the soundtrack for the climax of Demoni, one of the most awe-inspiring sequences in any horror movie ever. The rest of the record sounds like top-tier Judas Priest with a German gargling gravel over it. In other words: a stone cold classic.
