Praise to the Lord: Hymn Favourites from St Paul’s Cathedral cover
Released

English hymns have a particular distinctive flavor, and when they’re sung in London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral that flavor seems to be concentrated and deepened. This magnificent recording features Anglican hymns from across the ages, from William Croft’s early-18th-century composition “O Worship the King” to Ralph Vaughn Williams’ 20th-century arrangement of the traditional “He Who Would Valiant Be.” The singing by the St. Paul’s Cathedral Choir is nicely complemented by that building’s deeply resonant acoustic.
