On Glass

Released

In between Bauhaus’s initial breakup and the emergence of Love and Rockets, David J kept himself in busy creative overdrive, not only releasing two full solo albums but a slew of singles and EPs. 1986’s On Glass serves as a handy overview of the latter, not quite every track from the years on the Glass label in question, but nearly every one of note, including the compelling burn of “I Can’t Shake This Shadow Of Fear,” the woozy “The Party’s Over,” and “This Vicious Cabaret,” a collaboration with Alan Moore that featured in the latter’s V For Vendetta comic.
