Lap Of Luxury

Released

On the one hand Cheap Trick geared up for the late 1980s with the welcome return of Tom Petersson on bass, but the other hand labels shenanigans screwed around with Lap of Luxury, where in essentially being forced to work with outside songwriters for the first time they also scored their first US number one hit with the accomplished but very of-its-time power ballad “The Flame.” Amid all the trappings of the era, there were moments of the group’s own unique flair, including “Never Had a Lot to Lose” and the underrated kick of an opening track, “Let Go.”
