Andy Cartwright’s work as Seabuckthorn continued steadily into 2023 with the release of Inlandscape, another entrancing, quietly creative collection of treated guitar work – in this case, bowed guitar then played back on reel-to-reel, creating senses of swells and cycles of sound in combination with guest performances on strings and horns. He creates a sense of a melancholic sunrise on “Comes To Light,” while the shimmering tones on “And The Landscape Seemed To Glance Back” and “Discoloured Now” ride on a moodier contemplation in turn.
