Listening to Juana Molina’s music doesn’t typically inspire a sense of calm, but that’s not to say there aren’t revelations to be found within the Argentine electronic tinkerer’s luminous songs. That’s especially true of her seventh album, Halo — a disquieting work inspired by the myth of “luz mala,” or the “evil light” said to hover over the bones of the dead — whose mesmeric vocal loops and unorthodox sequencing give way to an uncanny divinity.
