Getting Killed

Released

Geese frontman Cameron Winter and guest JPEGMAFIA scream “THERE’S A BOMB IN MY CAR” at the beginning of Getting Killed almost like a band playing the loudest they’re going to be at the gig tonight: they’re setting the peaks and valleys at their own pace. Though not as chaotic as their previous records, Getting Killed finds Geese at the other end of the Having Something To Prove gauntlet and fully establishes themselves as one of the more thrilling bands currently working. Warm and dry production reminiscent of Jim O’Rourke’s song albums, a tightly wound rhythm section, and songs that ride a line between horrifying and anthemic, Geese have delivered a blast of a headphones record that is the perfect soundtrack for dissociating in the grocery store and tapping your feet while waiting for the next shoe to drop.
