Taking the building blocks of garage rock and super-charging them with a good dose of noise, motorik rhythms, and harsh overdriven guitar tones, Mexico City’s Mengers aim to shake up your nervous system. Exploring existentialism and socio-economic despair, the tracks range from short and frantic as in “Tiempos Suicidas” and “Celebra” to introspective and psychedelic, as in both “GOLLY” and “Pantitlán”. The result is an album with a unique mixture of aggression and experimentation.
