The core of this California pop-punk trio is the married couple Kelly Ogden (bass/vocals) and Luis Cabezas (guitar/vocals). Over the years they’ve had a variety of drummers, but it’s their chemistry that gives the Dollyrots such a solid and crunchy punch on their debut album. From the ambivalent kiss-off of “Kick Me to the Curb” that opens the album to the trashy send-up of Ronnie Spector’s “Be My Baby” that ends it, Eat My Heart Out signals the arrival of a major new talent.
