Boomerang

Released

Following Siouxsie and the Banshees’ reenergizing with Peepshow, Siouxsie and Budgie returned to the Creatures with Boomerang, exchanging their Feast-recording locale in Hawaii for the much more arid location of Andalucia in Spain. There’s light nods to this throughout the album but it more clearly finds itself in its own universe, as overtly heard on the spacey “Pluto Drive,” the bluesy vamp of “Killing Time” and the sassy kick of “Untiedundone.” “Fury Eyes” made for a fun single but it was the blasting anti-harassment opener “Standing There” that was Boomerang’s signature song.
