Bizarro cover
Released

The Wedding Present’s leap to a major label for its second album proper followed both the release of their intriguing Ukrainian language John Peel sessions and the arrival of Simon Smith on drums for what turned out to be the next decade of work. Bizarro had some intriguing experiments, like the Doris Day-sampling slow burn of “Bewitched,” as well as two all-time standouts: the engaging album opener “Brassneck” and the absolutely frenetic barnburner “Kennedy,” with David Gedge and Peter Solowka laying down a total guitar raveup to the full.
