Beneath the Remains

Released

Freshly international (upstart label Roadrunner Records signed them for this third volley), Brazil’s Sepultura rose to the occasion. More thrash than their earlier morbid visions, Beneath the Remains let them funnel their significant rage at growing up in a third world autocracy into this potent blast of chaotic time signatures and politically-focused lyrics. “Inner Self” and “Mass Hypnosis” smash through the ruins to deliver unforgettable beatdowns. They’d get more ambitious later but this is this their most direct screed.
