AmethYst

The first full album by vocalist/violinist and general transdisciplinary artist yaz lancaster is itself a reflection of their ideal and gift for collaboration, drawing on sessions over the course of several years with a wide variety of artists. AmethYst presents a sense of constant exploration, where their own compositions and commissions mix with those by others, sometimes with their direct participation as with Phonodelica on piano for “Monroe Park.” The overall mood is spacious, grounded in overarching issues of activism and identity mixed with experimental elegance.
